8th Pay Commission Announces Meeting Schedule and Consultant Hiring

The 8th Central Pay Commission has announced a series of stakeholder meetings in New Delhi and Pune while simultaneously opening recruitment for consultant positions with salaries reaching up to Rs 1.80 lakh per month.

New Delhi Meeting Schedule

According to a letter dated April 1, 2026, from Deputy Secretary Abhay N Sahay, the commission will conduct interactions in New Delhi on April 28, 29, and 30, 2026. Unions and associations seeking appointments must first submit a memorandum on the commission's website at 8cpc.gov.in.

After submission, stakeholders must send their appointment request to abhay.sahay@nic.in by April 20, 2026, including the unique memo ID generated from the memorandum submission. Venue details will be communicated separately.

Pune Meeting Schedule

The commission will visit Pune, Maharashtra, on May 4 and 5, 2026, as per a letter from Director Anand Kumar Jha dated April 11, 2026. The same process applies, with appointment requests to be sent to jha.anandkumar@nic.in by April 20, 2026.

Officials confirmed that additional meetings will be held in Mumbai and other states, with dates to be announced later.

Memorandum Submission Deadline

All associations and unions must submit their memorandums of suggestions through the commission's website by April 30, 2026. This submission is mandatory for securing meeting appointments.

Consultant Recruitment Drive

The commission has announced 20 consultant vacancies on a contractual basis. Full-time positions offer monthly compensation of up to Rs 1.80 lakh. Part-time options are available for 6 days or 12 days per month.

Director Manish Kumar, in an official memorandum dated April 10, 2026, stated that applications must be submitted online through the designated portal. Physical copies and email submissions will not be accepted. The age cut-off date is April 1, 2026.
